Lie Group Simulator — From SU(2) and SO(3) to SO(10)

A “group name” is a symbol that tells you what a collection of transformations keeps unchanged. Move things around in the six tabs to see how each group appears as a physical state. (A companion to Georgi, Lie Algebras in Particle Physics.)

Everything is computed inside your browser (no external libraries, no network communication). Weight multiplicities are computed on the spot with Freudenthal’s recursion formula, and root systems are generated as the closure of the simple roots under reflections.
